Looking for fun things to do in Tivat? It’s often overlooked by people visiting Montenegro, in favour of the more famous towns of Budva and Kotor. But it’s a thoroughly lovely coastal town in its own right, that’s unspoilt by the tourist crowds.

In this article – we outline the ten best things to do in Tivat, from relaxing on azure pebble beaches to exploring eerie abandoned buildings.

We explored Tivat in July 2023 while holidaying in Montenegro and were really impressed by this hidden gem. Both of us thoroughly enjoyed strolling around the town and taking in its incredible waterside setting. It felt like a little slice of the Swiss lakes or Italian Amalfi Coast, but for half the price of those more popular (and crowded) European destinations.
