Finding things to do in Brickell was a bit tricky when I first arrived in Miami. Unlike nearby Downtown, Little Havana, and Coconut Grove, Brickell’s sights aren’t immediately obvious. But having spent a week exploring the neighbourhood (and getting some insider tips from locals), I was won over by its charm and appeal.
In this guide, discover 10 awesome things to do in Brickell, from waterside strolls to rooftop cocktails.
Despite my initial reservations, Brickell is actually a pretty cool neighbourhood. Renowned for its high-rise skyscrapers, there’s actually a lot more to the area than initially meets the eye. So whether you’re a foodie, fitness fanatic, or just someone who enjoys sensational views (who doesn’t?!), you’ll find something fun to do here.

1 – Brickell Key Walk
My favourite thing to do in Brickell is wander around the Key, a small island connected to Miami by a bridge. One of my Miami-based colleagues recommended it as a great running spot and I was blown away by the dreamy location. It’s the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city while taking a leisurely stroll or jog along the waterside.
Brickell Key offers breathtaking waterfront views and lush greenery, accompanied by the soothing sounds of the ocean. It’s a serene oasis with well-maintained paths that provide the perfect setting for relaxation and rejuvenation. You can do a loop around the entire Key (around a mile long) by starting at the bridge and following the pathway around the edge of the island until you’re back at your starting spot .

2 – Rooftop Cocktails & Views
With impressive skyline views, it’s no surprise that Brickell is known for its rooftop bars. So one really fun activity is to take advantage of the happy hour specials. Sip on a refreshing cocktail while you soak up the panoramic vistas.
Top pick: Rosa Sky has a great atmosphere, tasty tapas, and incredible views across the city.

3 – Metromover Loop
Time for a wildcard option… Want to tour Brickell and the wider city of Miami for free? Then hop on the Metromover and do the Brickell Loop.
This automated transit system allows you to explore the neighbourhood effortlessly while enjoying panoramic views from its elevated tracks. No ticket needed – just hop on at Brickell station and take in the city from above.
Top tip – if you’re looking for an activity to do in Brickell while it’s raining, then the Metromover Loop is a great option. You get to see all of the sights from the warm, dry comfort of your carriage (this was one of the things I did while it chucked it down).
4 – Boutique Fitness Classes
While I was exploring Brickell on foot, I was struck by the number of people either going to or from fitness classes. I passed three boutique fitness and yoga studios on my morning run alone, all of which were positively buzzing.
It turns out Brickell is known for its health-focused culture. Next time I visit, I’ll be making like a local and joining a workout class in one of its trendy studios. If you do one first and have recommendations – let me know!
5 – Hire a Boat
To get a different perspective of Brickell (and the wider Miami coastline), try exploring its waterways by boat. It’s a great way to take in the breathtaking skyline and catch glimpses of celebrity homes. If you’re lucky, you might even encounter a few playful dolphins along the way!
Top tip: You can hire boats from Brickell through Go Florida Boating or Tropicalboat Charters.

6 – Brickell City Centre
If you’re looking for something more lively, then check out the luxurious Brickell City Centre. You can browse upscale boutiques, treat yourself to some high-end cuisine, and soak up the atmosphere of this premier shopping destination. With Saks, Coach, All Saints, Ted Baker, and Lululemon (to name a few), there’s something for most tastes (except the budget-friendly kind).
7 – Relax in a Rooftop Pool
We LOVE a rooftop pool and this neighbourhood isn’t short on options. There are so many luxurious chillout experiences at one of the many hotels in Brickell. Unwind in style, take a refreshing dip, and enjoy the exceptional views of Miami’s skyline.
Top tip: Combine two activities on this list by choosing a hotel that offers a rooftop pool and evening cocktails – that’s your afternoon and evening sorted!

8 – Sample Brickell’s Varied Cuisine
Brickell boasts a pretty eclectic culinary scene, ranging from high-end dining to casual eateries. You’ve got a huge variety of options from around the world so you’re guaranteed to find something you’ll love. Check out Baby Jane Cocktail House and Noodle Bar for budget-friendly chic or The Capital Grille for fine dining with waterside views.
9 – Relax at a Spa
Treat yourself to a pampering session at one of the luxurious spas in Brickell. Enjoy a rejuvenating treatment, massage, or therapy that’ll leave you feeling relaxed and refreshed. Lux, Sparis, and Icon are all great options to while away a few hours. The perfect option if you’re looking for things to do in Brickell while it’s raining!
10 – Shop at the Mary Brickell Village
This is an outdoor shopping and dining destination located in the heart of Brickell. You’ve got a mix of shops, boutiques, and restaurants, so there’s plenty to take in. And unlike the luxurious City Centre venue, this one has some budget-friendly retailers too.
